Lake Resources NL Announces Expansion Strategy to Fast-Track Lithium Projects Initiated

2022-02-13 22:09:00

Lake Resources NL is bringing forward a $15 million program across its three 100 % owned projects - Olaroz, Cauchari and Paso - for drilling and brine testing to fast- track these projects into feasibility studies in the TARGET 100 Program. Lake has initiated an expansion and integration strategy to fast-track its portfolio of assets in Argentina to deliver the TARGET 100 Program being the aspirational goal to produce annually 100,000 tonnes of high purity lithium to market by 2030. A separate exploration and testing team dedicated to rapid development across Lake's three other brine projects in Argentina will be utilising the comprehensive data set developed during the Kachi project's direct extraction processing test work. The drilling program has started with the first rotary well of a 4,000m 10-hole program, in the northern areas of the Olaroz leases, which cover a 30km long area on the eastern side of established lithium producers. These projects are located in Jujuy province, in the north-west of Argentina, close to the Allkem (Orocobre) Olaroz operation and the Lithium Americas Ganfeng JV Cauchari project. The drill wells are designed to quickly quantify brines identified, develop the aquifers, and conduct pumping tests and provide data for initial feasibility studies. Rotary wells will be followed later by diamond holes. Brines will be sampled and tested with environmentally friendly direct lithium extraction method, similar to previous work conducted on Kachi project lithium brines.

Lake Resources NL Announces New Drilling at Olaroz, Cauchari & Paso to Expand Lake's Lithium Projects

2021-12-15 21:51:00

Lake Resources NL is aiming to expand its lithium projects and potential resources with new drilling at Lake's 100% owned lithium brine projects at Olaroz, Cauchari and Paso starting late January 2022 with a 10 hole 4000m drill program. These projects are located in Jujuy province, north-west Argentina, close to the Allkem (Orocobre) Olaroz operation and Lithium Americas - Ganfeng Cauchari project. The drill program will be spread across the three projects, starting at the northern areas of the Olaroz leases, which cover 30km on the eastern side of established lithium producers. A second rotary drill rig is being sourced to potentially work alongside the diamond rig to quickly quantify brines identified, develop the aquifers and conduct pumping tests. Passive seismic geophysics are currently underway to be potentially followed by detailed electromagnetic geophysical surveys over key areas, once identified. Brines will be sampled and tested with environmentally friendly direct lithium extraction methods, similar to previous work conducted on Kachi project lithium brines. This will be followed by a scoping study to expand future production, with Lake planning to commence pre-feasibility study work once a resource has been defined. Lake has previously drilled and confirmed multiple high-grade lithium brines zones at it's Cauchari Project over a 506m interval (102m to 608m depth). This drilling confirmed similar grades and lithium brines extending into Lake's properties from the adjoining Ganfeng/Lithium Americas JV production development at Cauchari. The higher-grade results averaged 493 mg/L lithium over 343m (from 117m to 460m), up to 540 mg/L. Lake anticipates similar potential from Olaroz and Paso. Lake holds mining leases over 47,000 hectares over the three lithium brine projects of Cauchari, Olaroz and Paso. At Olaroz, which is north of Cauchari, Lake's leases extend over 30 kilometres east and north of the adjoining Allkem (Orocobre's) Olaroz lithium production leases. The new drilling follows recent drilling and DFS development work at Lake's Kachi Lithium Project, in support of doubling the production target to meet the increasing demand for high-grade, battery quality lithiumproduced via the environmentally sustainable, direct extraction process. These additional projects make Lake well placed to expand output, with support from export credit agencies and international investors. These moves follow further upgrades in lithium demand forecasts by a range of analysts and increased electric vehicle (EV) production plans by major automakers. This demand highlights the need for increased supply ofbattery-grade lithium such as planned from the environmentally sustainable, direct lithium extraction method Lake will be using.

Positive

Lake Resources NL Updates Drilling Reinforces Doubling Lithium Production

2021-12-14 22:50:00

Lake Resources NL confirmed that drilling to date at its Kachi Lithium Project continues to reinforce prior lithium assay results and indicates lithium brines extend well beyond the limits of the current resource. Continued similar results would support a doubling of future planned production targeting 50,000tpa LCE (lithium carbonate equivalent). The drilling footprint will be expanded next year, with additional rotary drill rigs, with the intention to upgrade and expand the resource, to support the completion of the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and the final investment decision (FID) on the Kachi Project. A more detailed announcement with results and the planned drill program will be released early in the new year. The scale and upside potential of the Kachi project was highlighted in a recent site visit by a project finance due diligence team for the Export Credit Agency (ECA) led project finance. The Kachi Project covers 74,000 hectares (183,000 acres) of leases, in a region subject to intensifying M&A activity and investment . Drilling to date focused on the southwest corner of the known salt lake and surrounds. The Resource Statement released to the ASX on 27 November 2018 identified considerable upside beyond the large identified total resource of 4.4 Mt LCE (Indicated 1.0Mt, Inferred 3.4Mt). Less than 20% of the current total resource is utilised for the planned 25,500 tpa lithium carbonate production over 25 years. The scale and potential can be seen in a new 3D fly-through of Lake's Kachi Lithium Brine Project, available on the Lake website. New infill drilling is designed to assist the conversion of resources to a higher category with increased data. Drilling will enable Lake to convert Inferred Resources to Measured and Indicated (M&I) Resources, to allow for a production expansion study targeting 50,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) lithium carbonate. A 1200m, four well diamond drill programme is underway and the program may be extended. Initial results are pending. A water well rig has completed three wells exploring process water options. A third rig has been completing pre-collar holes and pumping brine samples. A further rig is planned for production well drilling in coming months in 2022. Lake executives were recently in London and received support and encouragement for the project in recent discussions with ECA's and ECA-supported international banks.

Lake Resources NL Provides Update on its Kachi Lithium Project

2021-09-27 22:25:00

Lake Resources NL continues to demonstrate financial support for its Kachi Lithium Project, after receiving a formal Letter of Interest (LOI) from Canada's official Export Credit Agency (ECA), Export Development Canada (EDC). EDC's LOI does not increase the level of potential project finance available from Export Credit Agencies for the project but does increases sourcing flexibility, greater access to low-cost direct lending and reflects additional confidence around shared financing for a robust project. LKE has also received an expression of interest from UKEF. It is planned to have EDC's participation to run alongside UKEF as the lead ECA, under a Common Terms Agreement to cover approximately 70% of the total Kachi project funding requirements, subject to standard project finance conditions.

Lake Resources NL's Kachi Drilling to Support Doubling Production

2021-07-07 00:10:00

Lake Resources NL is increasing drill testing at its Kachi Lithium Project to support a doubling of future planned production. A four well, 1,600m diamond drill program is advancing, with brine sampling and pump testing. The program can be readily extended given all equipment is on site. The drilling program will support a conversion of resources to reserves for Kachi's Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS). Detailed COVID-19 controls and procedures are being followed to ensure the safety of employees, contractors and local communities. Drilling will enable Lake to convert Inferred Resources to Measured and Indicated (M&I) Resources, to allow a production expansion study to be conducted. The Kachi Project covers 74,000 ha of leases over a salt-lake south of Livent's lithium operation in Argentina, with a large total resource of 4.4 Mt LCE (Indicated 1.0Mt, Inferred 3.4Mt). Less than 20% of the current total resource is utilised for the planned 25,500 tpa lithium carbonate (LCE) production over 25 years. Infill drilling is designed to assist the conversion of resources to a higher category with increased data. The move follows increased investment in Argentinian lithium projects, including Ganfeng Lithium's planned development of a lithium-ion battery factory in Jujuy Province and another 20,000 tpa LCE lithium project at Marianas, as well as German automaker BMW's 285 million Euro (AUD 447 million) contract with Livent to source lithium from Argentina. Argentina's government has flagged plans to incentivise further production of lithium, with the government identifying a potential resource of some 350 million tonnes LCE.

Lake is doing a good job of keeping its liabilities under control and growing intelligently. At filing, their liabilities were 1.1, representing 6.0% change from the previous period. These numbers show that management has successfully encouraged growth while managing liabilities, especially relative to their peers. These results statistically lead to positive movement in stock prices, so we rated its liabilities movement component 78. Also, Lake publishes impressive results related to book value factors in this report. Specifically, price to book ratio (P/B) now sits at 23.4 and represents a 691.3% change from the previous report. These book value factor numbers show that management has been prudent in focusing on efficient growth. We believe the stock price has room to grow to reflect its intrinsic value accurately. Consequently, their book value factors movement received a grade of 78. That said, one metric, Equity, stood out as strongly negative. Lake published concerning equity metrics for this filing. Income Statement Analysis

Two metrics jump up as the most significant positive drivers of the income statement's strength in Lake's recent report: Revenue Efficiency and Return Factors. Lake reported highly encouraging numbers for its revenue efficiency. This characteristic can affect companies in the same industry and market capitalization by up to 24.0%. Their impressive revenue efficiency is even more impressive relative to its peers and competitors in the current market. The company's revenue efficiency, therefore, received a grade of 87. Also, Return factors metrics and ratios were exceptional in this report. Lake reported a return on equity (ROE) ratio of -10.6, representing a change of 57.7% from the last report. Its return factor metrics are even more remarkable when compared to their peers. Therefore, its return factors component earned a score of 66. That said, one metric, EBITDA, stood out as strongly negative. Lake's EBIDTA now sits at -5.1 and represents -40.8% change from the last reporting period. This metric might have a 20.0 percent impact on companies in the same industry and with the same market capitalization. The company's EBITDA metrics highlight a difficult overall financial situation, which may, unfortunately, continue moving forward unless management makes significant changes. Discouraging results like these statistically lead to negative pressure in stock prices, so we rated their EBITDA a grade of 62. As the companie's management is doing an excellent job managing the critical metrics, the income statement was given a score of 73.
